Back to all projectsWe used perpendicular and grid structure as principle to desing the mass of the new building. Our concept consists of two parts in a vertical sense. The first one is a groud floor plus one floor high part of the building. The second one is a 3or4-upperfloor high block. The higher unit had an U-shaped mass without the eastern stem, these missing part of the building will be a 5-storey hotel in the 2nd phase. The orientation of the higher units were based on the view of the Buda Hills to the west and the green spaces of the Graphisoft Park in the direction of Duna. We designed as less as possible facade surface on the southern side, and we placed such functions on the large northern surface, which require little sunlight. We tried to emphasize the more characteristic parts of the mass and the facades, thus the positions of these elements were located towards the busier transport hub.
