Back to all projectsThe kindergarten was located in Újpest at the Fóti Street-Tompa Street junction, and the site had a corner position. Our office were asked to expand the former 2-group monastery and fit the new part in the existing sturcture of the block and the perspectives. The position of the building was guided by the structure of the functions, the reduction of the adverse environmental effects, the possibilities of natural light and the connection with the public spaces. We aimed to design a building which closed towards the public spaces and opened towards the inner courtyard, and to placed the main functions on the ground floor, the services on the upper floors.
