Back to all projectsOur design concept was to create a block that opened to the main traffic directions and to the playground and that had a rational mass and shape, but variable and playful use of inner functions, connections of spaces and surfaces of facedes. We considered important to provide sufficient sunlight for the main functions and corridors, and connection between the playrooms and the playground. Thus, the playrooms were located on the south side of the building, above each other 3 playrooms with restroom units on both floor. A straight line staircase led from the upstairs dressing room to the yard, providing direct connection between the floors and the outdoor spaces. We placed the passageways into the middle part of the building and created a two-story large inner hall surrounding dressing rooms on every floor, where the parents come and separate from the children. Depending on the needs, the hall can be used as playground, event hall, common space, furthermore can be connected to the gym as a big indoor playground on the goundfloor on the east side. At same place on the upper floor, we placed classrooms. The services of the building are located on the northern side of the corridor.
